I prefer Djinn's Haste - it has the dual usage of being able to run up the hill faster to the Plains and hits the Mindblades for 97 every time you hit it.

You forgot to include the 50% reduction of damage in that, it definitely will not hit for 97 damage anymore

Whoops, my bad, well spotted Any other suggestions for the final slot?
Edit: Having said that, hitting them all for 45 or so must still be better than Glowing Gazes one hit of 35 for 1 point of energy back?

depending on your skill pt distribution, its about 3~4 en gain (+2 from fire attunement)
Not a great lot, but since you only need burning any extra energy is fine and [Dark Escape] isn't really needed either, I just use [GoLE] and spam [Burning Speed] whenever I need it... can keep up [Burning Speed] for a good part of the run through the mountain as long as I started with full en before passing the 'point of no return' :P

How do u get passed the Charged Blacknesses? I haven't ever run this b4 so can anyone explain how to get from starting room to the place with Banished Dream Riders etc?
And btw this can kill Bladed Aataxes, I got stuck and kept spamming until the whole group died.

Well, possibly, but i still think that there could be a better option for the last slot.. I don't think that any extra damage is REALLY necessary, That's why i just brought dark escape in case i get hit by traps, Idk...
Then again, since you don't really NEED an 8th skill, you could always bring Deaths Charge just in case the behomeths are blocking the whole path
EDIT: I completely forgot about Attunement torabo, so yeah, its +1 for using the skill and then +2 for attunement
+3 energy every 8 seconds isn't really necessary imo

Well, I agree its not really needed, but extra energy is still better than any other skill I can think of right now for the [Burning Speed] build, since any dmg skill is pretty useless because of the 50% reduction, thought now that you mention it [Death's Charge] might be a good choice... hm....

the wiki page has a link to a youtube video of the run to the plains, i'll find it at some point if you can't. But I can say, take a right turn at the top of the zig zag hill through a little valley, that was the part I had problems with when i started. (yesterday was the first time I ever did any UW SF if you believe it or not), also good to know it can kill attaxes.
I like the deaths charge idea. I think the best option is Light of Deld. if it does actually deal 2x damage then that could put some AoE damage out but it isn't armor ignoring so it still might be to little to be useful. With gaze i've found that even if I stop to get a beverage, text message, and flip channels (IE: screw around) I never have to swap to a high energy set to get myself out of a stupid move. Including Regen it can offer enough energy to get one extra speed burn in w/o saccing all the juice for an upcoming SF recast.
Also: just found this out, if you recast speed before it runs out it will still apply the burn from the cast that didn't end. Pair that with the fact that it's instant and only applies the burn at the start (so you can cast speed as armor is about to drop) i'd imagine a finely tuned casting rhythm can get some pretty fast kills

Yes indeed! I figger since Anet usually only balances monthly (unless something is SERIOUSLY broken), you (we) farmers will have 4 weeks to make the most of it. To the OP: GOOD JOB!

steam would hit for 40 on one target, Flame djinns haste would work better if you want damage since it's aoe but everyone thats tried that hasn't really been that impressed.

won't do much vs the mindblade mobs, but.... it should reduce the time it takes to kill a rider by a decent amount. Drop it on a rider near death and take a swing/wand (degen won't trigger it, which is nice so you don't step midcast) to shadow step/Deep Wound dead.

I haven't tried the lava version so I don't really know how well it goes now but the main reason is that the burning in lava is caused by a hex (mark of rod) which can be blocked by the spectres new hexbreaker while this build applies the burning without anything they can stop.

Anyone with max vanguard title tried [Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] with [Lava Font]? The ward adds +8 armor ignoring damage to each hit. 18+8=26 dmg on mindblades, 14+8=22 dmg on riders.
I dont tried it, i have rank 0, just an idea...

The 180 damage I posted before is from [Lava Font] alone, without taking [Mark of Rodgort] in to the equation.
As a side note, [Hex Breaker] does 31 damage per Mindblade Specter. So, if you cast a Hex in a group of 18 Specters that's a total of 558 Damage done to you. With enough high health is possible to survive and since, has far as my limited testing, Specters don't recast [Hex Breaker] you can recast the Hex again to apply it without need to heal our self.

I've been using [Lava Font]+[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] since nerf. It's doing good. Few things though:
1. [Fear Me] can cause some problems
2. whole run takes about 25 minutes (including all Cursed Riders but not their spectres, but you can skip Cursed Riders for faster run)
3. build is very energy intensive but it's a bit faster than the one with [Burning Speed] and [Frigid Armor]
4. you can try replace [Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] with [Fire Storm] => better energy management but lower damage
